CLINICAL DIETITIAN:

MONDAY - FRIDAY - DAYS 5/8s

As a part of our hospital Dietary Team that reports to the Director of Dietary Services you will:

• Effectively communicate with nursing, medical and other staff to ensure achievement of goals
• Conduct periodic patient rounds to determine adequacy of nutritional intake and assess acceptability of meals/interactions
• Coordinate and conduct periodic tray assessments according to qualify standards and diet prescription
• Recommend patient satisfaction programs and coordinate collection of patient survey data
• Direct the nutritional care of patients on assigned units
• Counsel patients and families on nutritional modifications
• Maintain accurate records/documentation of patient care
• Track quality assurance indicators and action plans
• Assists in development of departmental standards of nutritional care
• Provide advice on clinical related issues at departmental and inter-departmental meetings
• Maintains cleanliness of work area, personal hygiene, adhering to dress code and practice of safe work habits

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from a coordinated undergraduate program or internship and/or hospital experience

Experience required and 1 year of Clinical Dietitian experience highly preferred

Licensed or provisional license with the State of Texas (TDLR)

Current Registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

Strong organizational and communication skills

Able to understand and utilize currently acceptable standards in the area of clinical and managerial dietetics

Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care /support based on physical, pyscho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, age appropriate to the patients served in your assigned area as defined in job description/performance evaluation
