JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for driving profitable growth and expansion of market share for the hospital by coordinating functions associated with growth, including strategic planning, program and service development, referral development, physician relations, marketing, and sales. The individual in this role is accountable for ensuring that hospital growth and business development strategies are effectively deployed and for monitoring/measuring results. The role has the overall responsibility for business development, sales, marketing, and communications for the facility. This position reports directly to the facility CEO.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Consistently supports and communicates the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Medical Center.

2. Follows the St. Joseph Medical Center Guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).

3. Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation, and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

4. Supportive of the compliance program set forth by IASIS and demonstrated by:

  1. Upholds the Standards of Conduct and Corporate Compliance.
  2. Adheres to dealing appropriately and fairly with employee misconduct.
  3. Enforces all compliance policies as they pertain to his/her area.
  4. Provides and assures timely compliance education as requested by the Regional Compliance & Safety Officer and/or through corporate initiatives.

5. Responsible for driving profitable growth and expanding market share for the hospital.

a. In collaboration with hospital and service area leadership, develop annual growth goals and specific strategies to achieve them.

b. Function as the catalyst for the deployment of growth strategies at the hospital level, coordinating implementation in hospital departments. Serve as a resource to management to achieve alignment between operations and growth strategy.

c. Using formal and informal data sources, identify opportunities for growth and market positioning.

d. Develop targeted strategic and tactical marketing plans to promote the hospitals business and strategic priorities, increase brand awareness and market penetration and achieve revenue an EBIDTA targets.

6. Function as the key contact on the hospital management team for physician relationship management.

  1. In collaboration with hospital and service area leadership, monitor physician activities on a monthly basis and determine strategies to strengthen relationships.
  2. Working in tandem with the hospital sales team, identify and address issues and opportunities to build physician alignment; work with sales on the development physician-specific strategies (e.g. physician seminars, lunch and learns, office visits, screening opportunities).

7. Function as a resource to hospital and service area leadership on development of programs and services that can drive growth.

  1. Provide support to hospital and service area leadership on program and service line development, developing action plans to optimize volumes, and create tracking mechanisms and measures of success.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Proven leadership skills, analytical ability, strong business development and strategic planning skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of seven to ten years of marketing experience, including extensive experience in the healthcare industry.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

A college degree, preferably in marketing, public relations or a related field, is required.
