POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs warehousing, shipping and receiving duties. Participate in physical inventory counts. Inputs and retrieves data into/from the Materials info system for the purpose of processing department supply requisitions, maintenance of on-line requisitions, preparing inventory auto-requisitions for Purchasing and inventory control. Delivers and picks up supplies and equipment to/from hospital departments and offsite clinics. Assists with obtaining or providing product information as requested. Monitors hospital departmental stocks supply levels.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Six months to one year on the job training in order to learn hospital locations and Material Services practices and procedures.

LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

For designated positions valid and current Texas Drivers License required for insurance purposes.

These designated positions require no more than three moving violations or no more than two chargeable accidents or a combination of one chargeable accident and two moving violations in the past three years in order to ensure the ability to perform the duties of the position and to maintain hospital vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Ability to read and write at a level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent in order to verify correct items and quantities pulled, departments and delivery areas.

Ability to maintain non-complex records on delivery locations, pick-up sites, delivery times, compare items received with packing slips data, understand and follow written and verbal instructions when receiving and processing requisitions for supplies.

Maintain simple records of items received and damaged/defective items as well as other discrepancies.
