POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports to the Director of Imaging and is responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of department personnel engaged in operating radiology equipment to obtain images, transporting patients to and from Medical Imaging, filing of Medical Imaging reports and jackets. In doing so, it provides expertise in the development of department guidelines and ensures all activities comply with state and federal standards. Actively participates in JCAHO, FDA, and State inspections. Maintains department productivity standards.

Knowledge of diagnostic radiology, equipment operation, and special procedures normally acquired through completion of a two-year training program with three to five years of progressive management experience.

LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

ARRT preferred

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Graduate from an approved/accredited School of Radiologic Technology required.

Bachelors preferred

SKILLS:

Technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to this area in order to effectively communicate with physicians, health team members, patients and families.

Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision, in order to independently carry out the duties of the position.

Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Additional languages preferred.
