  • Emergency Departments are reorganized to be a safe place to treat all emergency patients.
  • A stringent cleaning policy has been implemented throughout the hospital.
  • A strictly controlled visitor and masking policy is required for patient safety.

SUMMARY

Under general supervision the talent acquisition specialist counsels applicants about job opportunities within the hospital, screens resumes and applications, interviews qualified applicants for various positions and conducts offers of employment. Confers with requesting departments regarding staffing needs, trends, position requirements and strategies. Makes recruiting visits to schools, professional meetings and conferences.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SERVICE

Consistently supports and communicates the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. Joseph Medical Center.

Upholds the Standards of Conduct and Corporate Compliance. Ensure positive applicant experience throughout the hiring process. Initiates 30, 60 day follow ups with new hires.

PEOPLE

Consistently follows facility guidelines and procedures in performance.

Manage the hiring process by effectively screening and interviewing candidates to meet client need; review job descriptions to ensure appropriate information included for advertisement, internet postings and targeted job boards; negotiation and communication of offer to successful candidates. Provides high level sourcing of talented and diverse candidates by networking and utilizing creative recruiting strategies to attract top talent in addition to existing corporate social media programs. Utilizes corporate programs to conduct email campaigns, resume searches and prospecting. Collaborates with senior leaders, business unit directors/manager and others as appropriate to develop and implement a strategic talent acquisition plan.

Provides training to new directors on applicant tracking software used.

QUALITY

Completes annual education requirements.

Promotes of a culture of patient safety which results in the identification and reduction of unsafe practices.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of applicants not hired and/or reasons for declined offers for future reference and/or EEO purposes.

Maintains files and records of recruitment activities including costs, current applications, special efforts conducted, applicant source data, etc. Prepares a variety of reports and analyses indicating recruitment activity for management's review.

GROWTH

Enhances the patient experience by fostering a positive relationship with customers. Contributes to improving HCAHP results.

Maintains relationships with College Programs-conducts student centered visits at RN, tech, OT/PT programs and others as needed.

Establishes relationship with staff and/or student nurse president to network and generate candidates

Maintain knowledge of business supported and market demographics.

FINANCE

Promotes stewardship of hospital resources while ensuring quality patient care.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Technical, clerical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Bachelors degree in Human Resources or other related field preferred

Minimum of two years healthcare recruiting experience required.
